Never worn scarf is copyrighted 1943. From Beau Brummel, it's called "Victory Insignia Scarf." This particular scarf is "For the Sweethearts of the Armed Forces" and is embroidered ARMY. The scarf is folded into fourths with the original cardboard insert intact. The sections which show measure 8 inches square. There is a sheet of paper enclosed with scarf which shows several different ways to wear it. Made of rayon, scarf may be washed or dry cleaned.
The original box appears to originally been a flip-open type, where one side of lid is attached to bottom, but is now a lift the lid box. Box is stained and has some tears along the edges. On one corner of the box lid, ARMY is stamped which leads me to believe this item was made for all branches of the service. I haven't removed this scarf from its original cellophane but it appears to be in mint condition. The white rayon which is visible is as clean as it was in 1943.
Wonderful item from a member of "The Greatest Generation."
